Did You Know? - Slides are "reversal film" shot to create a "positive image," unlike the negative image that was created by earlier film techniques. Many of the early slides were hand mounted into different types of frames including cardboard and glass. 35mm film for the still (as opposed to moving image) camera was introduced in 1936 by Kodak.
